Panchakarma

" Panchakarma ” a branch of “Ayurveda”  which deals with restoration of youth with the help of medicated oils. This special treatment of oil massages prescribed in the ancient Indian medical lore have been practiced in Kerala for many centuries, practiced in accordance with great works of “Charaka Samhita”.

anchakarma aspects are:

  • Prior to panchakarma, purvakarma is administered. "Snehanam" and "Swedanam" which are basically the purvakarma or meaning primary aspect of Panchakarma. Snehanam in Other words meaning "Oleation" and "Swedanam" meaning sweating and much of this method of Panchakarma Therapy is in preparing the toxins for elimination, through oil and sweating therapies. The oil application and sweating therapy helps in bringing the toxin into the digestive tract for elimination.

    PIZHICHIL (KAYA SEKA)
    This ayurvedic traditional massage (the Abhyanga) consists in a process in which the whole body is evolved in a continuous stream of tepid medicinal oil and a simultaneous very smooth massage.
    Benefits: it is a rejuvenation procedure that prevents and heals the neurological and rheumatic complaints. It relieves the tension, it gives peace of spirit and it controls the stress and the weariness.
        Acombination of two classical Ayurvedic treatments: Snehana (oleation) and swedana (sudation) . Pizhichil is considered to be the most natural way to purify different body systems, protect the body from disease and build up immunity

    Poorvakarama
    The first stage comprises essential preliminary for preparing the body to unload stored toxins. The treatments help to loosen toxins and move them into the gastro-intestinal tract, from where they can be eliminated.

    Pradhanakarma
    Is the second stage and includes the main cleansing therapies.

    Paschatkarma
    Is the final stage and describes the measures to be employed after the main treatment, such as diet , medicines and daily routine.

    Navarakizhi
    Highly rejuvenating and nourishing massage with small linen bags filled with cooked Njavara ricw . Prepares the body for the stress and strain of busy lifestyle.

    Sirodhara
    Lukewarm herbal oil is poured in a continuous stream on the forehead , while a gental massage is simultaneously given also on the forehead , to revitalize the body and mind . It relieves stress and strain related problems , slows the ageing process , improves memory , is known to have a curative effect on paralysis and other neurological malfunctions.

    Takradhra
    Medicated butter milk (takra) is poured in a dhara on the forehead to calm the mind and give relief from insomnia, depression and other stress related problems.

    Aromatherapy
    Ancient healing art that dates back to 4,500 B.C. refers to the use of essential oils from plants and flowers in  treatments such as facials massages , body wraps foot baths .
